Decks & Patios
1. When building a deck, we use only pressure treated wood.
Pressure treatment of wood is a process that forces chemical preservatives
into the wood. Wood is placed inside a closed cylinder, then vacuum
and pressure is applied, forcing preservatives inside. The chemical
preservatives help protect the wood from termites, other insects
and fungal decay.
2. When wood pieces are cut, we paint the cut edges with a chemical
base. Painting the freshly cut edges of wood with chemicals
ensures a lasting protection from insects and decay.
3. We use metal brackets, we mount a ledger to the wall with 1/3
bag screws and use metal joist hangers to make it stronger and more
stable.
4. Instead of nails, we use galvanized screws to fasten your
deck. Most other deck builders use nails as fastening materials.
This results in a squeaky deck after only a few weeks. Galvanized
screws, however, do not have the same effect.
5. When building a vinyl deck, we use tongue and groove 3/4 inch
plywood as a subfloor material for the deck. Other companies
use only 1/2 inch or 5/8 inch plywood.
6. We use Dec-K-Ing membranes for vinyl decks, which are maintenance
free. Once the deck is installed, no yearly upkeep is necessary.
The surface is mildew and salt resistant and contains U.N. inhibitors.
The membrane will never crack or rot. It is completely waterproof,
protecting the area underneath from the damaging effects of water.
Vinyl is available in different colors and textures.

Bathrooms
1. When renovating bathrooms, we install a cement board before putting
new tile on the walls. Competitors use aqua board or drywall,
which are of lesser quality.
2. We use Schluter - Kerdi - Shower Kit as a waterproof membrane
for the shower base or entire shower stall. The Schluter Shower
System is an integrated family of products that together form bonded,
watertight assembly for tiled showers.
3. When tiling your floor, we install Schluter Ditra. Schluter
Ditra is a polyethylene mat with square, dovetailed recesses and
an anchoring fleece laminated to the underside. In conjunction with
tiled coverings, Schluter Ditra forms an uncoupling, waterproofing,
and vapor pressure equalization layer.
4. We install Nuheat Floor Systems to keep your feet warm and
comfortable. Nuheat Floor Warming Systems are energy efficient,
and can be controlled using a variety of programmable and non-programmable
thermostat options. The systems are covered by a 25-year warranty.

5. We use Red Guard to fix wholes and joints before tiling around
the tub.
6. We use Schluter Finishing Edge - Protection Profile for outside
corners of tiled surfaces found on walls, countertops, and other
tiled edges. Once installed, the reveal of the profile produces
a straight edge.
